It started as an insult.
My older brothers were four and six years ahead of me. Everything was a competition, and they usually won. Bigger, older, faster before the contest even started. Then came the fake victory ceremony, hands in the air: “Champion Of The World!”
I’d run off crying, furious, yelling back the one thing I had:
“One day I’m going to be the Champion Of The World.”
That sentence never left me. Two lifetimes later, I took the insult and made it my name. (Fuck you JD and Kam!)
I played and toured for a decade with Oh No Not Stereo. New Punk is the first time I’m stepping out under my own name and my own creative direction. Nobody else to blame if it misses.
To me, punk is a way of thinking. Refusing to wait for permission. Making the honest thing before someone sands off the edges. That’s why no two pieces of this artwork look alike. The cohesion isn’t a filter or a color palette. It’s the person making it.
Every note on New Punk is played on real musical instruments, and no AI was used anywhere in the production of the music.
By day, Sky runs Experience Guide, building group trips and experiences around Colorado. Same creative muscle, different arena.
